I hope these idiots do some researching or prrof reading before publishing such “sensational” articles. In the same topic of “sensationalism”, I think the media is the biggest reason for latest religious madness concerning the milk sipping Gods and sweet tasting sea waters. News outlets (ToI doesn’t qualify as one)should not pay heed to such lunatics and further their cause.

I think Pillayar will look great on this website

Everyone around me know that I am a Sox fan. I am a die-hard but I couldn’t sit through their game today. Josh Beckett, Manny Del Carmen just couldn’t throw strikes. They were giving away bases loaded “walks”. I understand that the absence of Varitek, who is the team leader and the catcher with whom these pitchers have worked year long, has made a difference but I cannot beleive they cannot throw the ball over the plate and make some decent pitches if someone else is catching. As a sports fan, your best friend in the English dictionary is “hope” and I hope that Schilling and Boomer win the next two for the Sox and keep it within 2 1/2 games of the Yankees.

Oakland to Seattle and back…

I was travelling to Seattle last week – almost one day after the terrorist threats in London. The irony was I made it through security lines faster than a normal day on both the airports (Seattle and Oakland). Many of the flights weren’t on time and the line to get a pizza slice slice was longer than the lines to get through the metal detector. There was a ban of cosmetics, water, toothpaste and gels of all types. In Oakland, there were containers overflowing with make-up material. If they hadn’t thrown it all way and divided it amongst the employees, there would have been some very happy spouses.

Coming back to the water ban on aircrafts, one passenger sitting in the row before me successfully had managed to bring her water bottle on board the plane. It was seized….

Indian Summers

This new John Wright book about his coaching sting with the Indian Cricket team is turing out to be quite an storm churner. The latest feature on rediff.com talks about a quarrel beteern Wright and Sehwag is a fashion very similar to the one Randy Moss and Aaron Brooks had a few days ago in a Oakland raiders pre-season game. I am already salivating at the prospect of getting my hands on Wright’s book when I am in India and reading it in the plane on my way back to the United States. the only problem is I need to salivate for four more months.

I was at a Indian Ocean concert in Seattle last weekend. As always, the band rocked. The more I listen to them in live concerts, my appreciation forAsheem and Sushmit just increases. Sushmit is a magaician on the strings and Asheem’s high pitched vocals are unbelievable. The band played in a club called Neumos in Seattle and as it is always the case in Seattle, parking was a major hassle. We went around for 20 minutes before we could find any parking but thank God, the band hadn’t started even though we were late by about 50 minutes.

I was there at a temple last week and I prayed for a few things – brother’s studies, my wife and my career, mom’s wellbeing etc. At times, I have prayed for world peace, food for all but I have never ever thought that someone would pray for this

I am exteremely thankful to God that he gave her what she asked for much than what she had asked for.

Monstorosity

I often hear people telling me to think big. So, no more banners holding “Paapi for MVP” or “Paapi for President”. I am getting one that says “Paapi for God”. I have to make a worthless predicition at this point – “Paapi will hit a walkoff grand slam homer in the bottom of night in the seventh game of the world series this year”

why should we care if Condi Rice solves the Mid East crisis? After all, we have something else to worry about Condi

If she is really a fashion craver like that article claims, she has someone else to worry about
